Emily Sun

In a summer of notable concerts including a return to Sydney Opera House for her debut in its Utzon recital series with Slava Grigoryan, a collaboration with Pekka Kuusisto for UKARIA’s 10th anniversary celebrations and a return to the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, we’re thrilled to unveil that virtuoso violinist Emily Sun has been announced as the latest signing with Emblem Artists (representing her in Australia and New Zealand), and as a Larsen Strings Artist.

I’m delighted to be joining Emblem Artists for Australian representation. Emblem’s commitment to artistry and thoughtful collaboration is inspiring and exciting. I look forward to deepening my connection with Australian audiences and continuing to grow meaningful collaborations with musicians and the wider community.

Emily Sun’s virtuosic presence is much as her name, a beaming presence onstage and off, radiating a warmth and energy which leaves audiences astounded - we’re delighted that she’s found a home with Emblem Artists for Australia at such an auspicious moment, and look forward to working together to introduce new audiences to Emily’s ‘searing and poetic tone’.

We are absolutely thrilled that Emily is joining the Emblem roster for local representation. In my role as Artistic Manager at the Sydney Symphony, I had the great privilege of watching Emily perform at a young age as part of the Young Performer of the Year Awards, and in this capacity was able to support her in her first performance with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Fast forward 12 years and the opportunity to now represent Emily in Australia and New Zealand feels like a wonderfully natural fit. We are looking forward to maintaining and growing Emily’s important and prestigious artistic presence in this part of the world where her future prospects are extremely exciting.

Emily Sun has appeared with leading orchestras including the Sydney Symphony and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and has worked with celebrated conductors such as Andrew Litton, Mark Wigglesworth, Gemma New, Vasily Petrenko and Jaime Martin.

Notable highlights include performances at Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, Tchaikovsky Great Hall, and Seoul Arts Center, as well as a royal appearance at Buckingham Palace alongside Maxim Vengerov for King Charles III. She also performed for the King and Queen of Belgium at the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Most recently Emily appeared in London’s new Bechstein Hall performing Schubert’s Fantasie with pianist Caterina Grewe and has just released her debut concerto album, Film Fantasia, featuring the world premiere performance of Fantasie im Wintergarten by Elena Kats-Chernin.

As a pedagogue, Emily coaches around the world and will be returning to China this summer – she also serves as a Violin Professor at the Royal College of Music in London. Look out for Emily’s next performance video of Korngold which we’ll unveil soon on her YouTube channel.

Emily performs on a 1753 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin known as ‘The Adelaide’, kindly loaned to her by the UKARIA Cultural Trust.
