LIVE From London Summer

4 July - 22 August 2021

“The soul, like the moon, is new, and always new again.” (Lal Ded). Together on our ‘lonely planet’ we hold the power to preserve what preserves us, yet often misuse that gift. Sprinkling ‘Stardust’ through a summer festival celebrating cycles of renewal and regeneration in nature and spirit, VOCES8 leads an internationally renowned cast joyfully exploring the yin and yang of our existence and looking forward to ‘A New Day’.

Appearing in every performance, VOCES8 unites an exclusive line-up featuring new festival invitees The King’s Singers, Chineke!, Suzi Digby’s ORA Singers, a star quartet of Jack Liebeck, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Julian Bliss and Katya Apekisheva, Mary Bevan, Zeb Soanes, the London Contemporary Orchestra and Rob Ames, plus Cappella Amsterdam, Danish band Efterklang and others in a very special ‘Live From Haarlem’ series: returning favourites include I Fagiolini, Apollo5 and the English Chamber Orchestra.

Repertoire includes Kirkland Snider’s Mass for the Endangered, Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, Messiaen, Mozart, Lang, Ešenvalds, Walton and a cappella and choral favourites alongside world premieres by Taylor Scott Davis, Donna McKevitt, Paul Smith, Joanna Marsh and Ken Burton; voices, instruments and dance create a summer adventure to fuel community and give wings to one’s soul. Join us “singing till his heaven fills, 'Tis love of earth that he instils,” (Meredith – The Lark Ascending)

Watch live or On Demand from 4 July until 31 August. The festival is filmed live from the VOCES8 Centre, a stunning Wren church in the heart of the City of London, and from venues across the world. LIVE From London has been designed to raise money for festival artists and the Arts, and included in the ticket price is a donation to support the VOCES8 Foundation’s international education, outreach, and diversity work.

Libby Percival is co-manager for LIVE From London festivals, assisted by Desireé Ayton. Percius is a consultant for The VOCES8 Foundation.
