Composer, conductor, orchestrator Anthony Weeden starts his season writing by the music for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2018, and with a new film release, new orchestrations and orchestral collaborations.

9-15 October 2018 is Baby Loss Awareness Week; Anthony has donated his composing time to a partnership of 60 charities in creating the score for a special animation to support the week. Please watch the film and share #BLAW2018 to raise awareness.

This week also marks the London premiere of film Colette starring Keira Knightley and Dominic West; Colette is Anthony's first orchestration collaboration with composer Thomas Adès, and is Adès’ first film. Based on the life of French novelist Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, the film will be premiered at the BFI London Film Festival  on 11 October and on general release in January 2019.

Anthony is currently orchestrating with Tarik O’Regan for Tarik’s opera The Phoenix which will receive its world premiere on 26 April 2019 at Houston Grand Opera. As a conductor Anthony returns to work with orchestras including the Philharmonia, City of Birmingham Symphony (A Night at the Oscars) and Ulster Orchestra, and is looking forward to his debut with the Royal Scottish National and the London Philharmonic next year.

Anthony recently conducted and orchestrated director/composer Thomas Clay's score to his film Fanny Lye Deliver’d, a period thriller starring Charles Dance, Maxine Peake and Freddie Fox which is due for release in 2019; and he conducted and orchestrated the music for Chinese animated feature film ‘Kung Food’. Anthony was privileged to work with participants and talk about his process and work with Jóhann Jóhannsson at the British Council’s recent FAMLAB 2018 week, supported by Sensoria and the British Film Institute.
