Podger & Brecon Baroque: Classic FM Album of the Week

'Bach Double & Triple Concertos', Brecon Baroque’s second album which is released on Channel Classics in the UK on Monday 13 May, features some Bach favourites including the Double Violin Concerto in D Minor, the Triple in D Major and the gorgeous Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor.

John Suchet has chosen the disc to be his Classic FM Album of the Week, commenting that “it's living, breathing Bach at its best, warm and exciting at every turn”. The disc has also been awarded a Choc du monde de la musique.

Rachel Podger has just returned from the recording studio, where she has been working on her next solo disc for Channel Classics, ‘Guardian Angel’, which includes music by Biber, Bach, Tartini, Pisendel, Montanari.

Rachel and Brecon Baroque next appear at the Stour Music Festival on 30 June in a performance of Monteverdi’s celebrated Vespers of 1610. The group’s virtuosic Vivaldi programme for the St Albans International Organ Festival on 16 July is also not to be missed.
