The film of I Fagiolini and Circa’s hit show How Like An Angel has won its category in Dancescreen 2013 at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. The film, produced by Polyphonic Films Ltd. originally for The Space in 2012, was nominated in the Camera Re-work category of the awards.

The judges said of the film: "How Like An Angel is an inspired and original work that combines movement, light, camera and location to create a poetic and powerful vision. It is a mature work that creates a lasting resonance."

How Like An Angel was commissioned by the London 2012 Festival and was produced by the Perth International Arts Festival and the Norfolk and Norwich Festival and is a collaboration between British solo-voice ensemble I Fagiolini and Australian contemporary circus company Circa; the show was filmed in three UK cathedrals in 2012. The live show returned for 22 sell-out performances in 2013.

Peter Maniura, Curator of The Space says: “How Like An Angel was a visually and spatially stunning highlight of London 2012 Festival. Polyphonic Films worked with the original collaborators to re-imagine the event for digital space offering audiences internationally a new perspective on the performance. I am delighted that this spirit of adventure and innovation has been recognised by this award from Dancescreen”

DVDs of the film can be purchased here. In addition to this, Polyphonic Films are now pleased to offer the film on Vimeo on Demand, a new streaming service where viewers can rent and buy films.
