I Fagiolini returns from its debut tour Down Under to shouts of acclaim from Australian reviewers and with a host of new fans.

Touring in Musica Viva’s 70th anniversary season, the ensemble performed a characteristically mixed programme combining old and new works, including Poulenc Sept Chansons which the group will release on Decca Classics next spring, Adrian Williams Hymn to Awe (written for How Like an Angel, the group's Cultural Olympiad collaboration with Circa), and a new commission, Le Molière Imaginaire, from Australian composer Andrew Schultz with text by writer Timothy Knapman and supported by Geoff Stearn.

Many thanks to Music Viva for a wonderful collaboration and to the audiences who so enthusiastically supported I Fagiolini’s tour. A sample of accolades from tour reviewers includes:

“A brilliant first performance from I Fagiolini…” Carl Vine Musica Viva Wordpress
